The media is indicating that there is decrease in the number of covid cases in India yet no major decline in number of deaths above 4000 daily. This is mainly because people are not getting tested for covid unless it is a very serious case, since most people are aware that they will get cured at home.
In contrast the number of recorded deaths is remaining almost the same, around 4000 daily, because it is legally necessary to record a death for multiple purposes
There are a large number of deaths in rural areas which are not getting recorded, since there are no facilities for testing, no doctors at all, so no one knows the real cause of the death
